Baby massage

Massaging your baby is a wonderful way to connect with your child and there are many health benefits. Skin to skin touch promotes bonding and gives your child a feeling of being loved and secure. For parents, regular baby massage can alleviate the symptoms of postnatal depression. It also gives you practical ways to help relieve common symptoms such as trapped wind, colic, constipation, teething and blocked nose.

The Calm Birthsmith is proud to offer baby massage classes in Walton on Thames for babies aged 4 weeks to crawling. You will learn a full body routine that is inspired by Indian massage, with influences from Chinese reflexology, Swedish massage and yoga. Over the course we will go through the massage strokes for the chest, tummy, legs, feet, arms, hands, back, head and face.

Courses run over four weeks with each class lasting 45 minutes. The classes are a mixture of massage, songs and playtime, keeping it fun for both you and your baby. We are completely baby led so if you need to feed or change your baby, please do. If your baby is asleep you can practise the moves on a doll instead.

What's included?

The Calm Birthsmith baby massage course costs £38 and includes:

  • four weeks of classes

  • a bottle of 100% pure grapeseed oil

  • a booklet showing you pictures of all the strokes we have learnt so you can remember the routine when you get home

What is hypnobirthing?

Hypnobirthing helps you to have a smoother, more comfortable birth.

It is so effective because it uses a combination of logic and science, with some relaxation techniques and gentle hypnosis.

Who is The Calm Birthsmith?

Hi I’m Rachel, Mummy to George, and (hopefully) your hypnobirthing teacher!

I had a wonderful birth using hypnobirthing - birth can be so incredible and empowering. I decided to train as a KG Hypnobirthing teacher because I want to help more women like you to have positive births.
